Julian of Norwich is a 14th century mystic whose writings and life enjoy continued interest. A contemporary of Chaucer, her narration of visions she received during a severe illness remains one of the most loved and influential spiritual texts of all time.
Julian is commemorated in both the Anglican and Roman Catholic calendars, on 8 and 13 May respectively.
