"This book introduced me to many writers I will look out for in future; I liked the short biographies which grounded the spiritual insights. (...) I found the book was best read in short, meditative chunks; it would be great as an accompaniment to prayer times for both men and women!" Alison Fulford, Home and Family, Autumn 2006.
"The anthology is a triumph, containing much that will rouse as well as amuse or give cause to ponder." Methodist Recorder, September 7, 2006.
"There is never time to read everyting that one wants to or even to know what to read and so this is a good, accessible, reasonably-priced introduction to writings from mystics, poets, diarists, saints and teachers which can be followed up as desired." Gloria Street, The Reader, Winter 2006, Vol.103, N°4.
"The short but useful biographies of some of the more obscure women will probably inspire you to seek out more of thier writings. All in all, there is much dwell on in this little paperback." Parish News, June 2007
